Possible Next Steps - Under Construction
Well plans have changed again. Since we got our US visa we have decided to use them but in a round about way. I am updating the map with our plans (ver 2009-248a) but the new one will include the VEnezuelan islands, the Dutch Antillies, Columbia, San Blas, Nicuragua, Honduras, Belize, Mexico, maybe Jamaica and Cuba before heading up to the States for next summer.Stay tuned!
you seem to have missed the hurricanes, which would seem fortunate...

Hurricanes?? What are they? Are they something I should take into consideration with my plans??? Any advice would be appreciated. Wantta come sailing?

You really need to be where the hurricane's aren't which is usually about being where they won't be and if you will be where they might be you pay close attention to weather while having an escape plan.
Nigel Calder's World Cruising routes has all you need to plan your way around hurricanes.
Re your route. You will find the leg from Panama to PR next to impossible. I understand it is better to head north first before trying to head east.

Florida Hurricane season is June - November, but weather reporting from NOAA is great. My wife watched 24 hour weather in the Keys - I went to Seaworld. Look forward to reading of your adventure!
